The Finer Grain, and now Sarge's Grips, is simply an extension of the passion I have for custom woodworking with the exotic woods of the world.  There is no factory, there are no employees, just me and my 20' x 30' wood shop.  I enjoy the unique challenges offered by working in wood, and am proud to be able to share it's beauty with others.

I don't stain or color the wood I work with as there is simply no need.  The beauty of nature is not something that I can improve upon.  I can only hope to showcase it and allow it to speak for itself.  Exotic woods come in many colors and textures and are from literally all around the world.  The finishes I use are clear and not only protect the wood, but allow all the gorgeous graining and depth of the wood to shine through.  Flat, matte, or gloss, the finish will protect the wood for years to come. 
I like to think that the projects I work on will become family heirlooms and be handed from parent to child for generations to come.
